About

What Is TravelTracker.me?

Boilerplate copy you can quote or paste directly. Pick whichever length fits the article.

One sentence

TravelTracker.me is a privacy-first travel journal for tracking countries, national parks, UNESCO sites, and trips, with no third-party trackers, no ad pixels, and no data sold to third parties.

Short paragraph

TravelTracker.me is a travel journal built on a simple principle: the app that helps you remember your travels should not profit from surveilling you. Users manually log countries, cities, national parks, UNESCO World Heritage sites, cruises, lodging, photos, and journal entries. The app runs no third-party analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, and sells no data to advertisers. Our business model is subscriptions, not surveillance. It works as a web app and as native apps on iOS, iPadOS, and Android, with one account syncing across every device.

Longer description

TravelTracker.me was built by solo developer Steve Panaghi for travelers who want a clean, organized record of everywhere they've been without the privacy trade-offs of conventional travel apps. Unlike tools that run background GPS or monetize user location history, TravelTracker.me is fully manual: the user decides what gets logged. The curated database covers 195+ countries, 400+ national parks, and 1,000+ UNESCO World Heritage sites, alongside free-form trip, city, lodging, and journal entries. Photos are organized into trips, travel statistics are visualized on interactive maps, and trips can be shared with family or kept completely private. One account syncs across web, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. The business model is a subscription, not advertising, which allows the product to make a clear promise: no third-party trackers, no ad pixels, no data sold.

Founder of TravelTracker.me

Steve started TravelTracker.me after years of trying travel apps that either tracked his location 24/7 or quietly turned his trip history into ad-targeting data. Positioning

How TravelTracker.me Compares

Short summaries of how TravelTracker.me differs from other travel tracking products, written for journalists who need a quick point of comparison.

vs. Polarsteps & FindPenguins

Polarsteps and FindPenguins are social travel tracker apps centered on passive GPS route-recording, with revenue primarily from printed photo books. TravelTracker.me takes the opposite approach: every log entry is manual, there is no GPS tracker feature at all, and the product is funded by a simple subscription. It also adds curated databases of 195+ countries, 400+ national parks, and 1,000+ UNESCO World Heritage sites with detailed information on each.

vs. Google Maps Timeline

TravelTracker.me is a manual travel journal, not a passive location tracker. The user chooses what to log, and nothing is surveilled or shared with a third party.
