Location Types and Statistics
How Locations Count
| Location Type | What It Counts |
|---|---|
| Country | Adds to your country count |
| State/Province | Adds to your state count (US states tracked) |
| City | Adds to your city count |
| National Park | Adds to your national parks visited |
| UNESCO Site | Adds to your World Heritage sites |
No Double Counting:
- Multiple cities in France count as 1 country
- Multiple visits to the same location don't duplicate counts

What happens:

- This cannot be undone
Best Practices
What to Add
- Places you stayed overnight - Hotels, campsites, lodging
- Major attractions - Museums, landmarks, natural wonders
- Cities explored - Where you spent significant time
- Special locations - National parks, UNESCO sites, unique experiences
What to Skip
- Brief highway stops - Unless memorable
- Airport layovers - Generally don't count as visiting
- Every restaurant - Focus on areas rather than individual meals
Tips for Organization
- Add locations while traveling when details are fresh
- Use consistent naming (official names work best)
- Add notes with tips and highlights
- Link photos to help remember the experience
